bridge settings

  1. just wondering if anyone can tell me what standard bridge measurements would be for playing rock, thanks

    Setting your bridge isn't really genre-specific. It's a personal taste as to how high you like your action. If it's uncomfortable, change it. Every rock player in every band will have a different setup.

    The adjustments on the bridge really have nothing to do with the style of music at all. If you like high action, raise the bridge. If you like low, keep it low. Its a matter of personal taste.

    Just in 'general'... as a starting point: -typically, "bridge settings", are about 3/32" - 5/32" or; if you have access to a quality feeler gauge, approx. .080 - .105 at the last fret. (the 'higher' end should be at the 'E' string) And, if you're using a 5-string, you'll need to add a bit; 1/32" or .003 - .005 on the feeler guage.
