I'm in the process of building a bass and went with hipshot B bridge, .669 spacing which is practically 17mm. I'm wanting to use a set of nordstrand fat stacks, but for 17mm there's a 50 dollar upcharge, but for 18mm spacing there isn't. The fat stacks were already pushing my budget and I can't afford the extra 50 right now.

So would it be a terrible idea to use 18mm pups for a 17mm bridge? I've been thinking that angling the pups might better line up the poles, but who knows.

i would just get a bridge that had the right (wider) spacing.
