Bringing the Action higher on the bass

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Bassplayer5115, Jan 1, 2005.

  1. Allright i have an ibanez soundgear sr405.

Can i bring the action up a liuttle bit with the strings on? may sound dumb, but I have never really messed with the action before.

the saddle...IS the way to mess with action...

  6. Raising the action makes the bass sound warm and nicer.

Why is that? because the distance increases from the pickups?

Could have to do with the fact that with higher strings, there is less fret noise, therefore the note rings clearer.
