I'm stuck on a cruise ship and the tuning peg for the b string on my music man 5 broke off. So I've been playing it with 4 strings for 4 weeks now and have 6 weeks left. I'm just wondering if this imbalance in presure will damage the neck or not and can it wait until I get home. I couldn't seem to find the part online.

    Thanks, Jim

Damage, probably not. So long as the frets aren't clanking I suppose it's still playable until then. Enjoy the rest of the ride.

  3. Where did it break off at?

Large ships like that have extraordinary shop facilities for maintenance. I bet you can take off the tuner and have a bored machinist help you create a fix. Steel can be welded, nickel should be able to be braized.
