My 10 year old son has a Bronco bass and I was wondering what would be a great pickup to put in it?
One of the GFS rail pups would be cool.
This is what I found but no one has answered my reply for consensus:
Any recommendation on the best pick up mod? After screening the threads I've come up with:
1) Stock pu with new pot and drop capacitator
2) Seymour Duncan Hotrails
3) Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder P-Bass
4) Dimarzio ProTrack
5) GFS Lipstick
6) EMG Select Strat
I'm going to look at prices now. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. Thanks
I've tried several pickups on my Broncos but I wound up going back to the original factory pickup. I found I liked the "'51 P bass" like tone I get with it.
Are you stock all the way now or do you recommend any additional mods (i.e. new pots, capacitator etc...)
I personally love the quarter pounders... so if you're looking to replace the pickup, I'd go with that.
+1 on the GFS lipstick pickup
Excuse by nubbie knowledge but I heard that that the GFS Lipstick can be "low powered" Any concerns related to that?
It can be had at 4.9k, 6k and 8k. The 8k should be hot enough.
