Yay, my first ad post as a new supporting member of Talkbass!!! Up for trade is the Azure Drive by Broughton Audio in excellent condition! First and only owner, purchased directly from Josh’s website. Got it to emulate that Blueberry Bass Overdrive sound, and the Azure Drive does just that — and so much more! Comes with original packaging, no velcro attached. Looking for the following trade options, with cash +/- either way depending on the trade: Super Stack (preferred). Silver Deluxe (preferred). Studio Boost Noble Bass Preamp Darkglass Harmonic Booster Lindy Fralin Split-Coil Jazz Bass bridge pickup 5% underwound (I know, super random, but in the middle of modding my bass). Creation Music Elevation V2 18 x 12.5 pedalboard with case. Will buy outright if you’re in the market to sell the Broughtons mentioned above. No, I’m not interested in your Always-On High Pass Filter lol. Feel free to message me with some other trade offers. I’m at least willing to listen. Looking for something that will serve as a close alternative to a Noble Bass Preamp. Message me if you have any questions!
IMO, They’re both Fender style tone stacks. So if you don’t need the DI or the 9v pedal power outs, the SS certainly can be an alternative. And judging by the most recent Noble sale prices, almost a thousand bucks cheaper too. Kinda makes the SSDI look like a bargain.
EXACTLY lol not trying to spend Noble prices right now. The SS is perfect as a friendly pedalboard preamp. I use a direct box from Pinstripe so I have a quality DI, just want tubey goodness. I might consider the SSDI in the future if I can’t get my hands on the regular SS.
I feel that an Olympic MkIII does a good job in getting you that "tube goodness" you'd get from the Super Stack (I have both), but has a more versatile EQ section and does a whole bunch of other stuff and has an effects loop that adds a whole other layer of flexibility. I honestly can't say that a Noble is worth $700-900 more than an Olympic...
Certainly. If money wasn’t an object, I’d certainly get a Noble. Or a Shiftline if I want to go that route for flexibility. Both are a little pricey right now to test drive them personally and get a feel for it.
