Brubaker K5B Custom fretless

    Never got around to putting up much as far as pics.

    Spalted Maple top, Catalpa body, Maple neck (black finish), Ebony board (gloss finish), Bartolini quadcoils, Bartolini preamp, Hipshot hardware.

    Thanks. It's only hollow at the f hole. Its medium weight, maybe around 8 lbs. Catalpa is fairly lightweight and resonant. OTOH my other K5B is a pretty heavy Ash... just like I requested. Kevin Brubaker has an even lighter wood that he uses, Pawlonia.

    It is a satin finish and very fast. I'm guessing the other reason is he thinks it looks good (I agree).

    A bonus is that it messes with people's heads. I've already had someone say the only problem they had with the bass was the graphite neck:D

    I also like the black back, which, along with the black neck is in no way reminiscent of a Zon Legacy Elite.
