He has long been one of my favorites. I can't seem to post links from my phone, but his bassline on Costello's "Little Hitlers" is outstanding, to name jyst one.

  5. He is awesome! So much bass goodness on every one of the EC albums he was on.
I used to play "lipstick vogue" in a band way back in day....

Nope, but sadly he's done about as much outstanding work post Elvis as Elvis has done post Bruce... :(

Hard to pick a fave but Love for Tender is running through my head right now.
Pump It Up is an obvious one,
    The Beat,
    Little Triggers,
    Moods for Moderns...
Pretty much any EC song he put his stamp on is really good, the better ones are unbelievable - I like a lot of his more subtle playing too - it's just less "fun" to think about.

IMO, the albums This Year's Model and Oliver's Army are masterpieces of rock bass. Bruce Thomas is a genius of weaving harmony, melody, and rhythm. One of my very favorites that sadly doesn't get enough props.

Here's part 1/5 of EC&tA on Rockpalast from 1978. The band is absolutely at the top of its game, totally on fire. The crowd is... polite.

  9. I also think he's very underated. Definitely big influence on my playing. My fave is probably "Lipstick Vogue".

  10. Some truly inspirational Bruce Thomas here. Thankfully, the bass is mixed louder than usual too...
