    Hello,

I’m trying to wire up a Novak BS/DS pickup with wiretap on an Alpha Push/Pull pot. The pickup has three leads (Red, white and green). Currently, I am putting the red lead in the top left slot of the push pull pot, and the white in the bottom left slot. I will ground the green. How do I wire the tabs on the push/pull pot in relation to the volume pot and the tone cap?

    thanks!
    Matt

  2. Looking from the back of the pot and wire lugs facing you: the right hand outer lug needs to be grounded to outside body of the pot with a ground wire from the output jack. The center wiper wire lug goes to the tip of the output jack. The left center lug of the switch to the left hand outer lug of the pot.

Thank you @LoveThatBass ! Think I’m tracking, but to clarify, the center wiper wire lug is one of the 6 small lugs on the switch, and it gets connected to the left round lug?

  4. This claims to be for the Novak BS/DS. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks Matt, I'll give that a shot! Wondering if it will be much different because the switch is attached to the tone control, but we'll see!

So, I switched the push pull to the volume (not sure why I was hung up on it being on the tone in the first place), and the schematic above worked! Sounding great now, thanks all for your help.

  9. Happy I could help. I do love a good BiSonic style pickup.

  10. Electrically it is the same as a DPDT toggle switch (since you are only using 1/2 the switch so basically like an SPDT switch) except it is push/ pull. Over the years I have don’t it both ways

  11. The switch doesn’t care with control it’s on. It’s independent of the potentiometer part unless you wire them together.

Ya I was not thinking about that the right way and was wiring it to the tone. Should have just patched a wire over to the volume, but what I ended up with is cleaner anyways.
