I'm looking for a new rig sometime at the start of the new year. Right now I am torn between two cabinets. Both are Crate, both are 4 ohms and 220 watts, and both are made to go with the BT220H head. The BT215 is 2 x 15" BT215 Link The BT410 is 4 x 10" BT410 Link I was looking at them on music123 and since the more expensive of the two [the BT410] has free shipping, it comes out to very close to the same price. Which would you choose? EDIT: here's something else! There is a BT115 cabinet that is $100 cheaper that goes with the same head. Also 220W. Would this be more worth it than the other two? BT115 Link Oi! I'm so confused!
Well, i just got a BT215 on sunday, and well, let me say, i am quite dissapointed with this cabinet. However, i was not using the crate head, but a carvin 100watt tubed head. It sounded alright when i played it with the crate head, but it seemed to fart out when turned more than half way up. And for around $375, you can probably find a different cabinet for the same price, and be way better quality. Also, i must say that tonight when plugging it in to my amp, the input jack broke and fell inside of the cabinet. I will be taking this cabinet back and getting a refund for it as soon as i can. As far as my experiences go, i do not like this cabinet.
How bout neither? For the best bang for the buck in that price range, go Avatar (www.avatarspeakers.com) or Dr. Bass.
Don't buy solely on price considerations- when the 'bargain' doesn't do what you ask, you'll lose 1/2 the value dumping it & then end up buying something slightly out of your present range. And don't buy Crate...
