BTBe w/Music Man tones???

    hey does an Ibanez BTB 515E able to get Music Man tones?and is it more versatile than Stringray 5 w/piezo also which one sounds better(for progressive rock/r&b and/or nu-metal) between the 2?:bassist: :D :p

    I don't know if you're being sarcastic or something, but I'll answer anyway...I've got a BTB and IMO, it won't do anything resembling a MM. You just have to have the pickup in the MusicMan sweet spot to get the MusicMan sound. That's why I got my Fernandes Atlas. Because I just had to have something resembling the Music Man sound but I didn't want to fork out the big bucks.

    edit: Oh yeah, I'd say the BTB is far better for nu-metal AND progressive rock. A MusicMan is better for pretty much everything else except jazz.

    Yeah, Ive never been able to get anything near an MM tone out of my BTB 5er.

    Its the pickup placement that gives it the punch, and the BTB doesnt have that. The BTB's power is in its obscenely warm tone! :)
