Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

At some point down the road I want to try building my own bass.

Rather than build each piece from scratch, I would be more interested in putting together pieces that have already been produced.

Are there sites/places that sell precut body blanks, necks etc?

The electronics seem to be readily available.

Allparts, warmoth, carvin, musiciansfriend sells mighty mite parts. I'm pretty sure fender sells official parts direct from their site now as well. There's tons of places that sell parts, these are just a few from the top of my head.

I priced a warmouth precision style bass. Added up to over a grand easy. Would be fun to do. I currently build most all of my own parts. Just not fender precision. I'd recommend the warmouth site. Should you decide to sell it off. There stuff seems to hold value. Good luck and if you have any ?. Send me an email.
