Can anyone please share little tips of advice you can give to me when putting a rack together. i.e. foam in empty spaces helps, or the poweramp should get its own rack. like that. thanks

Just kidding, umm...I've always liked this setup:

    1) Wireless system(if applicable)
    2) Power conditioner
    3) Amp
    4) FX(if applicable)
    5) Power amp
    6) Misc....

  9. I would definitely place the power rack in its own rack, especially if it is over 40lbs. Considering I have hardly seen many poweramps that have considerable power weighing under 40lbs, I say get it its own rack.

If it's that heavy, then yes, get it it's on rack, or maybe put it on the bottom.

  11. I don't have any tips for building a nice rack, but I could point you to some plastic surgeons! *rimshot* :D

  12. Here's how mine is set up...

    Rack 1: 4-space (Top Rack)
    Furman Power conditioner
    Korg Tuner
Raven Labs mixer and RNC Compressor
    Kern Preamp

Rack 2: 4 space (Bottom Rack)
    Wireless system (I seldom use)
Sonic Maximizer (Haven't used since I got the Kern)
    QSC PLX 2402 Amp

Since the QSC is light (~20 lbs) I may move to one 6 space rack at some time. I prefer having the amp in the bottom space. everything else goes where I can get to it most effeciently.

I think the mackie 1400i weighs in at 33 lbs. does'nt it:confused: I've never weighed mine out but I sure love it. Also if you get a poweramp that is not fan cooled, make sure to keep it away from your preamp or were talking chernobyl melt down:eek:
