I am building a Ric-like 4001 bass and I am looking for pickups. I have thought of Joe Bardens and Bartolinis. Any others?

How are they? I saw some other posting saying that people disfavored them

They only make the neck replacement, as has been argued in another thread. I'd prefer a whole set myself...

To the OP - have you considered just getting a set of actual Ric pickups?

  12. Maybe these would interest you ? About $110 for the pair

Doubt you'll recognise the brand name Roswell but for years they've been supplying pickups to ESP,Fernandes,Fender,Spector and Status Graphite. Not 100% sure who the US stockists are but they will be out there.

You may want to post this in the Pickups forum.

How about Ric pickups? That is if you want it to look like a Ric and sound like a Ric.

Pretty sure Nordstrand would wind a Ric pickup to custom specs for a bit more $.
Wouldn’t hurt to get in touch and ask!
