is there a quick way to repair a burned out voice coil?? i have discovered the VC in my peavey combo 115 has slight burn on a small part of it, like little bubbles or something that is causing it to rub on the magnet.
Now, i (being cheap) wanted to fix this on the cheap so i just sanded the rough burned bits off.
Is this gonna further wreak things and destroy my amp??

You need to recone the driver.
  3. Sounds like you must have a Black Widow and were able to remove the magnet from the cone to examine the voice coil. You can just get a replacement Peavey Black Widow cone and bolt it on the magnet and you'll be good to go. Check eBay if necessary to get a replacement and make sure it is the right impedance.
