Burnt Apple vs. Black Cherry Burst - What's the difference?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by PanteraFan, Dec 9, 2002.

  1. I was just ogling the Ernie Ball website (as you do) and saw a new finish - Black Cherry Sunburst! 'Ooh', said I. I look at the photos however:

    And eh? They're the same!

Id memory serves me correct, the Burnt Apple has the metal flake in it like the Blue Dawn, where the Cherry Burst is just red stain with black burst.. I think i just fell in love with that cherry burst though...YUMMMMM

SoyBase is correct. The 'apple' has a purty sparkle to it. Madness I say, MADNESS!!!!

All of the MM burst finishes are translucent in part or all of the finish. The burnt apple finish is in the "burst" style but the paint used is opaque so no wood figure is visible.

Burnt Apple is by far my favorite finish on an MM bass.
