Burst Finishes and Rosewood Boards - Post Your Favorite Colors!

    Hey guys! I'm thinking about refinishing my MTD ZX5. I bought it used, and love the tone and feel of it, but the trans black finish has always been boring to me.

    I'm trying to figure out which color combo for a burst finish would look best with the rosewood fretboard.

    So, post some pictures of your favorite burst-finished basses that have rosewood fretboards :)

    I believe pau ferro is in the rosewood family. If I'm incorrect, it is similar in color. My Dingwall Super J in "Colaburst":

    Pau Ferro might share many tonal attributes with Rosewood but it usually has a slightly lighter colour.

    They're both all over the place color wise. The pau ferro board I own is about the same color as several of my rosewood boards, darker than one of them.

    Personally, I feel Cherryburst looks just fine with rosewood and a black pickguard… ;)
