Has anyone checked these little thingies out? Talk about low end response! Could they be really useful to a bass player?

Well, the buttkicker is a tactile transducer. It's mainly for you feeling the bass, not hearing it. Of course, it'd be great to bring a few to a gig... but I'm not so sure the owner would take kindly to you attaching them to the floor; I don't see how else you would do it.

They are intended for monitoring, not for the audience. Buttkicker makes a platform that you (bassist) can stand on, and monitor yourself or the kick drum or both.

It's about $70 from MF. You'll also need the Buttkicker itself (the yellow thing), which you can find for about $200, and a 400-watt power amp (anywhere from $150 to $500+).

They make an attachment for drummers, also, that mounts to the throne.

These are about $30. Again, you still the Buttkicker and a power amp.

Standing on one of these can really give you an extra adrenaline rush without hurting your hearing.
