I bought ALL my amps online. I didn't get to try any of them before buying.

    Fender Bassman 400 bass head
    Fender TBP-1 bass preamp
Fender 4x10 Pro SL bass cab
Fender Blues DeVille Reissue (guitar amp)
Vox AD120VTX (guitar amp) w/foot controller
    Fender Frontman 25R (guitar amp)
    Fender Champion 600 (guitar amp)
    Ibanez SW65 bass amp
    Nemesis NA320 bass head
    Ashdown MAG 210 bass cab

I never had to return any of the amp gear due to defects or damage. All the amps sound good for what they are.

I would love to be able to try all my gear first, but living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean makes that difficult. Especially since a round trip to Oahu, where all the bigger music stores are costs about $170.00 USD (plus rental car + hotel if I stay overnight) :meh:

I might take a trip to Oahu to try some gear when the High Speed Ferry starts service with the Big Island. :D

    I have on many occasions.
    Ampeg SVT CL
    Ampeg SVPCL
    Ampeg SVT350h
    Ampeg B15n
    Peavey MkIII
    Yorkville BLOC80

I had an idea what to expect before hand.
I did do some homework first.
    I wasn't disappointed.

  4. Not an amp per se but I bought my first Acme B2 on line and later bought another three.
I do not use a bass amp, I haven't bought one since I was kid. I use a pre/power rig and have not looked back since.

  5. I've bought all of my gear sight unseen:

    Line6 Variax 300 - Line6 PodXT Live
    Nemesis N28S - NC210P - NSP210(8) - NSP210(4)
    Eden D210XST(8) - D210XST(4) - WTX260 - CXC110(WT-390 head) - CX110 - EM5's

Not a problem with any of it.

My Eden rig was bought without playing through any of it, one piece at a time.

I was starting to gig again, and was short of cash. Great deal on a WT400, so I bought it. DIDN'T buy the Bergantino it was sitting on (I had been out of the market for many years, and wasn't familiar with it. The price was a steal, too).

Then, an old 2x10 popped up, then a 1x15 cab.

I've since played through a bunch of different rigs (Mark Bass, Ampeg, EBS), and I prefer what I ended up with. Lucky, I guess.

I would only buy an amp I heard. I will never blindly order up an amp without playing one of them firsthand.

    Cabs... maybe.

I bought my 300 Pro without ever playing through one. All of the reviews that I read seemed to describe the sound I wanted.
