buy New or Old bass

    Hello all,

    I owned a Dean Edge 4 about 4 years ago, with a Peavey 450 watts Max.
    I sold them because I needed to move from France to Netherlands.

    Now I would like to buy one again to continue to play funk fusion, funk (slap), but also modern rock as Creed or Nickelback.

    My price range is maximum 400 euros.

    I was looking for a new bass as my Dean (or Yamaha/Ibanez), but then I saw second hand some Yamaha BB1100S (250 euros) or Ibanez Blaster (250 euros)...



    Could someone help me to make my decision between an old or a new bass ?
    Does a new bass means always good wood quality, good tones ?
    I am not usually a vintage fan, but I read great tones comment about old basses. Do you think it could fit me ?

    For the same amount of money you can get much higher quality with a thoughtful used purchase over new.

    I'd buy the Yamaha BB1100S in a heartbeat!
