    Hello all,

I owned a Dean Edge 4 about 4 years ago, with a Peavey 450 watts Max.
I sold them because I needed to move from France to Netherlands.

Now I would like to buy one again to continue to play funk fusion, funk (slap), but also modern rock as Creed or Nickelback.

My price range is maximum 400 euros.

I was looking for a new bass as my Dean (or Yamaha/Ibanez), but then I saw second hand some Yamaha BB1100S (250 euros) or Ibanez Blaster (250 euros)...

Could someone help me to make my decision between an old or a new bass ?
Does a new bass means always good wood quality, good tones ?
I am not usually a vintage fan, but I read great tones comment about old basses. Do you think it could fit me ?

Thanx for your help, I appreciate.

For the same amount of money you can get much higher quality with a thoughtful used purchase over new.

I'd buy the Yamaha BB1100S in a heartbeat!
