Hey well I'm in the process of helping my friend upgrade her bass. Atm she has a PoS ibanez start up package bass.

She has around $700NZD to spend and I've been looking around esp on TradeMe for some 2nd hand basses and just wondering what anyone thinks would be a good deal.

Would be esp helpful if you know the NZ market for basses.

Heres a link to TradeMe (http://www.trademe.co.nz/browse/cat...18-1321-&rewritten=true&sort_order=price_desc)

If anyone has any info about good quality cheap basses going around nz as well then that'll be a real help :D

    Cheers and thanks!!

EDIT: Just been looking and found these. Is there any info that people can tell me about these? Like stay away from them, or this is good, and reasons why? Cheers

Each one of those choices should be decent basses for the money, particularly the Fender and ATK. I can't tell you a whole lot about the Peavey though.

Lots of fans around here of both the Fender and Ibanez.

Cheers, yeah to me they all seem real intriguing. The Peavey esp just because it looks diff and is the neck-thru design.

Anyway im out, so all you guys who still have daylight or some hours left in the day, Ill be expecting to see some more replys in the morning :) haha... All good.

Good night talk bass, see you in the morning
  6. Go with the Peavey. You can't beat them for quality/value for the price and they have really nice thin necks. The ATK will have a neck more like a Fender Precision, which is thicker and rounder than either the Jazz or the Peavey.
