I've been playing for about six months and I have a 4 string fender squier p-bass. I want to buy a 5 string bass and I wanted to know what kind would be best. I mean the sound, the look and even the weight but in a affordable price.

    thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

Each player has different criteria for the best bass. I would take a look at 5 or 6 basses in your price range. Play each of them for 20 min to 1/2 hour. Ask yourself the following questions:

    which sounds best (to you?)
    which is most comfortable
    which is made best
which do you feel you won't be bored with in a year or two
which bass has "your name on it"
which store do you have the most confidence in.
