Buzzing Ric pups

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by stascc57, Dec 8, 2004.

  1. My newly acquired 1981 Ric 4001 has a buzzing problem. It isn't very bad but it is bothersome. Someone told me that Rics don't have shielding so could I do my own shielding job or should I go to a shoe to get it looked at?

If i can do it myself then where would i get the shielding material?

    Hi,
there's two basic approaches to shielding.
Copper foil, which you have to solder all the seams...
    and
    shielding paint...which is more convenient.

both of these items can be found at Stew/Mac
