  1. 'Old' is a relative term.

It's a scam. You don't even get to see the headstock and confirm it's a Fender.

    whoa wait a sec...

that's the beauty OF C/L, you can drive over and LOOK first at what your getting, then YOU decide if it is worth what they want.

    That's okay - I meant the original post, myself!:D

  9. IMO the beauty of CL is the truly comical ads where someone apparently believes they have some sort of gem. I see this a LOT in bicycles. My other favorite thing about CL is the mad flaggers who won't give a guy even the slimmest chance of ripping people off.
On topic, I repeat: 'Old' is relative. My 3-yr-old daughter could certainly call a 10-yr-old bass old, & the aforementoned *Fender* may be worth nearly $400. Pigs may also soon fly from my hindquarters in great abundance. :)

-here's an "old fender" C/L purchase I did not too long ago... until I saw it live, and said yep...looks like a Fender to me, here's 100 bucks for it.

  11. Aside from the age of that particular bass, I really like the look of it. Possibly a Mary Kay white with a gold annodized pickguard - that would match my '57 RI Strat perfectly!

That said - I was more inclined to believe this was a scam than even a mis-represented bass. I have answered ads before and given my phone # only to regret that later on - not knowing what is being done with the information I gave the poster. (name, phone number, email addy, etc...)
