I found a GK 1001RB series 1 for dirt cheap. Firstly, how is this amp? Any known issues? Also, what kind of cab should I get for it. I dont wanna spend over $250 for one if possible. Any suggestions?

I had one that I used with an Ampeg 610HLF. It sounded great and was as loud as I would ever need. As far as a cabinet for it you might look for a deal on a good used 4x10 or 1x15 depending on your tastes.

Neo 212 GK cabs sound fantastic with the 1001RB. Ran that setup for a few years.

A $250 budget will likely not give you many quality options. Your best bet is to look for used cabs in your local Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

250 bucks? Look for a used Avatar 410 or 212.

that 1001 is a tremendously powerful head.
be careful with whatever cab you end up with.

You MIGHT be able to find something like an SWR Goliath III or IV at the top of your budget. But if you raised it even just to 400 you would open up a LOT of options.

More than $250 but a CX410 is a good match for that head

Just an update. I found a crate be-215l 2x15 cab. 400watts at 4 ohms. And an eden d118 1x18 500watts at 8 ohms. Now I know the gk amp I have runs 380w at 8 ohms and 540w at 4ohms. Both cabs are in the same price range. So which one should I go for?

Personally, I wouldn't enjoy either of those cabs for what I play. What kind of sound are you going for?

I'm going for more of a growly midrangish tone. Something to suit my gibson g3.
