If you add a 2x10 to a 2x10, does that double the power. Or if you do something like that with a 4x10 does it become louder?

Generally speaking you increase the power as the impedance is lower with two parallell speakers. But it depends on the amp if it can handle the resulting impedance and just how much the power increases. You need to check the specifications for the amp and see how much power it generates for different loads. But generally the result will be louder, yes.

So gennerally, if you have more speakers, the sound will be louder.

    Right?

The question is a bit too general, but up to a point that would be true. Until the combined impedance of the speakers get too low, and the amp breaks.

But, even if you substitute a 4 ohm 2-10 cab with a 4 ohm 4-10 cab you will still have an increase in volume because of an increase in speaker surface area.

Again, generally speaking and all other things being equal, yes, but it would also depend on the efficiency of the cabinets. The 4x10 would perhaps also be percieved to be louder if it has a better low-end responce.

Well yeah, thats what I meant. If the two cabs were using the same speakers, and were tuned the same.

FWIW, The Eden 210XST has a better reported low frequency response than the 410XST. Ive heard people testify that they've noticed that as well.

    Peace
