Just a question regarding the BEST Speakon to 1/4 inch cable to connect my Walter Woods Ultra to my Schroeder 1210 Cab?
Should I go with 12 or 14 gauge?
    Links would be helpful.
Need about a 3 foot length.
    Thanks All

I had one built by and I couldn't be happier. Mine is a 1/4" to Speakon series cable.

I was referred to them by TB'er "Biker4him".

  5. Thanks All,
    Another question comes to mind.
What is the difference between Neutrick and Speakon connectors?

    Neutrik = brand

Speakon = the connector they make and we use
  7. Thanks James,
    I got it now!

At that length, wire gauge shouldn't make any difference at all. From what I understand, the weak link in that setup by far is the 1/4" plug connection. Speakon or bananas or binding posts would be a lot better.

While bigger cable is always better, 14 gauge will be fine with a 3' cable. I'm surprised the WW not have a speakon connector?

Most cables will be fine. The budget cables tend to stop at 18 gauge.
  10. Seanm,
I think the reason Woods does not have that style of connector is in regard to the lack of space back there.
    Thanks for your help!

I would suggest you make them yourself.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but James, is there any chance you could change your title? I use the 2-column post visual style, and your title causes that column to take up almost half of my screen. :) :eyebrow:

I too use procables. Two of 'em (12 gauge, 3 foot, Speakon connecters).
Really like them and the company was very cool to deal with.
    Highly recommended for speaker cables.

ask Paul... I'm just following the "Commercial User Policy". He set the length.

Hmm... Could you fit a space or two in it maybe? Or have you reached the maximum length?

With a space in the middle of it somewhere, it would word wrap to a new line instead of protruding into your posts. :)

was max length... I removed the pipes and replaced with spaces. How's that?

I really like using drop cord. It's thick, flexible, and durable. One thing you also have to worry about is the composition of your cable connectors. This is never talked about. Do any of you computer nerds remember the problem with the tin containing connectors not working very well with the gold connectors on ram chips? They had some sort of reaction that interfered with the connections. Anyone ever had any probs with this?

    hey guys,

quick question... i'm interested in getting a speakon to banana cable for my power amp to cab setup.

but under the "Select Wiring Options", how does the standard wiring differ from the "bridged mono 1+, 2+"?
