Cage Match! Fodera vs. Sadowsky

    Has anyone had the opportunity to A/B a sadowsky and a fodera headphone amp? I think that the fodera better suits my needs, but if anyone has any input, I'd love to hear it. I could be swayed...

    You're doing yourself a big disservice if you don't include the Raven Labs stuff in your list....

    I checked them out, but they didn't seem to fit what I was looking for. I had it down to those three, and then narrowed it to the two on my list. I thought if I was going to get as involved as the sadowsky and raven, I wanted a DI out. Have you played any of the units? If so, what do you think?

    Not the headphone amps, no. I was speaking from experience with other Raven Labs units (MDB-1) and also from things I've heard from other players who have used the headphone amp. I can't say one is better than the other, but I just know the quality of the Raven Labs stuff should make it a contender in any apples/apples comparison. I'm pretty sold on the company as a whole.

    Then again, if you've checked them out and see that their features aren't what you need, you've already done what I'd advise....to give them a look-see.

    Alright boys and girls, I am revising my question in hopes for some sort of response. Has anyone used either of these units at all? Has anyone held one in their hands? Has anyone seen one from a distance? ANYTHING?!?!

    It's like asking, do you prefer lobster tail or filet mignon? Both are great albeit the differences between the two preamps are a lot more subtle than the two foods.

    Your best bed is to order both from the same store and tell them you will keep one but return the other for a refund. After a few days return the one you like the least. I do that with pedals sometimes and the people don't mind: they know they are making a sale and I pay shipping both ways.
