Does anyone have any experience with tha cakewalk guitar tracks 2.0 softwear. It is a cheap recording program, sort of like a multitrack recorder. It says it can be used with any electric or acoustic guitar and I'm wondering if that means electric bass, too? Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can use an electric guitar. A friend of mine did so. I'm about to try myself.
  3. If you are serious about recording buy Steinberg Cubase or Cubasis software. It works way better than any Cakewalk stuff. You can record a bass no problem with this. I would recommend using a mixer, though. I'm assuming you have like a soundblaster card or something, right? Those cards sound like Ca-Ca for recording. Buy an ECHO gina, or Darla card or an M-audio card. They work way batter than any damn sound blaster.
