Any idea what this is based on? Sansamp? Vintage Microtubes? https://www.amazon.com/Caline-CP-59-Electronic-Effects-Classic/dp/B07LGY6KLJ
It's probably an approximation of the VT Bass without the character knob. The CP-60 Wine Cellar looks very similar to this this. The layout is exactly the same. The reviews I read says it sounds like a BDDI. That amazon price is almost double that of the Chinese sites for these.
Chinese whispers. It's not a VT bass but it looks like that's the pedal it is trying to emulate in the same way Joyo does with the other Character Series pedals. They don't sound identical. In fact Caline do their own American Sound too. The best marketing these pedal companies get is people on forums claiming they are clones of more expensive pedals. They are not and seldom stand up in a side by side comparison. The Wine Cellar could be a good cheap option for a cheap DI as a backup although I doubt the XLR is line level. I'd imagine it's just taken from the jack output.
I'm skeptical. Why keep the knob on cp-60 but remove it from cp-59? The other knobs are generic enough that it could be "anything." What's with that switch though?!
They're both purportedly emulating tech 21 pedals, why would one retain a character knob and the other remove it. Clearer?
I said the CP-60 was emulating the Sparrow Dr J as it has the exact same layout which is apparently emulating the Sansamp BDDI. It's a ground lift. It says it on the pedal and in the description.
Here is the description, for reference: "HF Harmonics has GND LIFT, CHANGE GAIN adjustments." This is in reference to a single, 2 position switch.
I read some reviews and I figured that the CP60 is a BDDI cheap clone. I use a Sansamp Bass Driver Deluxe and I have a couple of gigs in Norway this summer. I don't want to travel with all my gear, so I ordered a CP60 to compare it with the real deal. If the sound is close enough I'll take it with me and leave the pedalboard at home. I was close to order the Behringer's clone because it does the trick in a blind test, but I don't like the plastic enclosure ..
Apologies. I was unaware that it was only a two-way toggle switch. I've never seen the pedal in question and just have the information on the link to go on.
I do love this description of what the Wine Cellar does: Caline DI bass Wine Cellar CP-60 captures all the sound of a mic’s classic tube bass amp
