  1. I have read it a couple of times, but I am not quit into the bass-slang..
what is ment with : "neck heavy" ;)
  2. if you strap on my american jazz, that's what neck heavy is. i need a strap just to sit and practice or the neck kinda dives to the floor. but i love her sooooo much. (do i sound like an abused spouse?)
  3. To say that a bass is "neck heavy," is to say that the the bass does not balance easily when played (especially sitting down) causing the neck to want to dive for the floor as soon as you don't have a good grip on it. This usually happens to basses which have smaller than usual bodies, and/or have been altered by their owners in some way. A good example would be a Gibson EB-3. (SG shaped body)

This was NOT a stupid question.
