How does your role work? Do you literally sit @ a terminal checking every post?

    Is it voluntary?

    Thanks!

How does one become a mod?
Do you guys work from home?

    I know stupid questions...

I kinda want to be a mod. On the one hand, I'm here more than anybody, but, I don't know if I'd like the responsibility of making sure that threads were on topic and following forum policy.

well..I multitask, I don't JUST sit here and internet...I sit here, internet, and twirl a frisbee on my finger, I just perfected my left hand, so now I can twirl and browse with greater comfort!

also I usually have my bass on my lap, so at least it's not time wasted

    Thats a killer idea.

I never thought to sit with my bass and fart around while chatting...

    Thanks man!

I will now make that part of my regiment while on TB..

Yeah...for real. I mean, I don't have my bass up right now, cause I'm really tired and slouching, but I usually do.

the best is when you are reading a long post while running through warm-ups or endurance stuff, or something that doesn't require much attention to the bass.

I don't know, it's certainly a good way to use the time.

I have another question for the mods...

So each discussion room has there own moderators....But not all the moderators are online all the time.

Do you guys share the work?

Like tonight I noticed three mods online.

    babysitting the whole site....WOW!
    daunting task....

Or do you guys have some cool tools that help with this?

I thought this was a troll alert thread!

anyways, we dont "share" our work (well, most of us). Usually is just a moderator per sub-forum (or more if it's a big forum like Off topic and basses).

For example, i don't have any "powers" over this Off topic forum, jut on my assigned Bass Humor and Gig Stories Forum.

usually it's not really a lot of work since us (bassists) behave pretty well online (or at least the Talkbassers lol)

Except Off topic and Basses Forums, these are heavy on the posts and traffic. Hats off to the mods in there :D

We actually have a command post, buried deep in a mountain bunker, where at least one moderator is on duty at all times.

Don't let these guys fool you.

Becoming a Mod calls for an intricate fireside ritual involving a jar of Mayo (preferably Heilmann's), a kitten, bikini wax and a g-string. After this secret initiation, you're issued your decoder ring and punishment devices.

    You're not worthy.

You can apply for worthiness by sending each active Mod a crisp new $20 bill, and then we'll talk about it.

You will become automatically worthy if you can demonstrate prior concurrent proficiency with jars of Mayo, kittens, bikini wax and g-strings. Pictures are required.
