Hello LC, i have a question for you. Does anyone know how to wire up a 4-way rotary switch with a single humbucker in this way? Front coil-both series-both parallel-rear coil? The picture i sent is the underside of the switch i’m using. I can’t find anything online that makes sense to me. The pickup has normal bare/green/red/white/black wiring. The first picture is the underside of the switch i’m using and the second is a diagram i found, but i can’t make heads or tails on how the lugs are oriented in order to divide them correctly. If anyone reading this has any answers, i’ll be forever in your debt!! Thanks in advance!!
Are you asking how the lugs are connected on the switch? That is a 3 Pole, 4 Position rotary switch. There are three independent sets of contacts, and the switch clicks to four different positions. Your picture shows the switch lugs divided into the three groups. In each group, there is a Common contact, the one in toward the center. Each Common contact has four outer contacts, marked 1, 2, 3, and 4. When the switch is in position 1, each Common contact connects to its own #1. All three Commons are each connected to their #1, but the three sets are fully isolated from each other. Move the switch to position 2, and each Common connects to its own #2 lug. Etc. In the wiring diagram you showed, the Common lugs are the ones inside the tan area. That diagram shows mechanically the same switch as in the first picture. It's just spread out so you can see the terminals better. It's three groups, each with a Common and a set of 1, 2, 3, 4 lugs.
