Can a direct box be used as a preamp?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by fleabass89, Apr 25, 2001.

  1. Can u just go bass -> direct box -> poweramp -> speaker ?

    they both change the signal from low to high impedance right?

    pretty sure...you won't have any tone control, but if you can get a good tone out of it more power to you!

    The Direct Input box should have some type of gain/volume adjustment, most do yet some don't.
    You may also need a balanced to phone plug adapter cable depending on the in's and out's of you system.
  4. You can do that easily with the Sansamp BDDI.
