Can a Peavey Vb-2 run 6550/Kt88s?

Don't much care for El34/Kt77s in amps, is it possible to run 88's in this amp with rebiasing or will other modification be neccessary? I've read a few things on the internet that say one resistor needs to be dropped from 250k to 100k in the bias circuit (for this swap in amps in general), but I'm not sure how reliable that information is in this specific case.

If not, what kind of tube rolling would you recommend to get closer to a Kt88 sound?

My brain doesn't know, but my gut says no.

The Tour™ VB-2 looks to be a fine amp.

If it works, why fix it? :bag: :)

Look around, there's a thread here on TB where Bobby (an engineer?) from peavey actually runs through some semi-safe mods of the VB-2 to increase output.

Not sure about modding to run KT-88s though...
