I'm still fairly new to the bass world. I like to think I know what's good tone, and bad. But I'm not sure what gear accomplishes what sounds.
I'm back on the hunt for a cheap, reliable bass rig and I think I might be a little more picky this time around.
I really dig the bass tone in this tune, can anybody guess what it might be?

    Thanks kids!

Can't get your link to work. It looks like it's a .jpg photo file. It has and http: twice.

That's what it sounds like to me too, although I don't see this as a particularly difficult sound to get out of any gear.

You can also try ground (half) round strings. Something not too zingy. I have dead half rounds on my Ibanez P/J and still have some sustain but also does a great '60's flat wound tone when muted.

Tasty overdriven P-bass-into-Ampeg bass tones http://acapella.harmony-central.com...kick-ass-live-and-their-new-album-is-good-too
