Can Anyone Identify This

Discussion in 'Basses [DB]' started by uprightbassghos, Oct 4, 2005.

  1. I got this on eBay as I just coun't pass up a $300 bass. There are pictures at http://www.csp-music.com/ub/. The tag inside says Made in Germany, US Zone. It has real purfling. It's got a 40" scale length.

Anybody know the maker and rough age of this thing?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

The basses look different to me. The side to top and back joints are a different style.

This bass looks like an Eberle/Musima/Rubner from the Mule (sp) joint, Soviet style. I thought the Musima factory was in East Germany before the unification, thus the Soviet style joint, but I could have my geography wrong.

The bass in the prior thread looked more like the Wilfer/Hofner style joint, West German basses.
