this isnt hard but i played welcome to paradise by green day and I got an A for my gcse, its more about if you can play properly and in time than choosing a really hard song and completely messing it up. chances are you will get a beter grade for a lesser challenging song. it sounds stupid as thats what i thought when i did my music gcse. another good song is No one knows by green day

    +1 on YYZ, freakin nuts!

Also Pulling Teeth bass solo by Cliff Burton, insane I just finished learning it, now I just need to work out a few things to perfect it.

    Cult of Personality- Living Colour

There isn't a whole lot of memorization there, but it gave my fingers a work out learning it. I think I was about 16 at the time.

    Five Magics-Megadeth

Johnny Kick a Hole in the Sky- Chili Peppers

    Lemon Song- Led Zeppelin

I think these songs were pretty challenging me after about 2 years of playing. Mostly a finger workout, the Lemon Song was an exercise in ear training mostly, learning the solo note for note.

I never learned YYZ, but that definitely sounds like something that would take a bit of work to play well. I guess I'll have to get started on it. Seems like I'm the only bass player that doesn't know it. :)

yeah, i did so what by miles davis for mine and got an A. that isn't too taxing to play
  19. When I first started learning I sucked at playing with my fingers over different strings. Learnt bombtrack by rage against the machine and that sorted me straight out
