Hey, I really like these basses and their sound but have no idea who they are. If anyone can, help me! Also, if you could tell me what kind of pickups they have so I could just buy them instead of a whole bass! Thanks all!

  2. Looks like a Warwick Thumb bass to me.

It's a Warwick of some kind...I think a Thumb. MEC pickups, I believe.

  4. I concur with the Warwick thumb.

If you try putting MECs i another bass, let us know how it turns out- since a large part of the Warwick sound is supposed to come from the woods used, not (just) the pickups.

I'll be sure to tell you how it turns out as soon as I find a place that sells them! I would like to get that bass but $1899 is a little high for a 16 year old w/o a job! Thanks for all the help everyone! TalkBass.com is the best place

Yep, that's Traa, and he plays Warwicks exclusively. That's a Thumb, but he usually plays a Dolphin 4 or 5, but uses only MEC pickups. He plays through Edens, also.

Has anyone noticed the thumb rest on the Warwick Thumb?

The magnets upder the soapbar covers could be in a J style configuration. If you really want that sound do you really care if you have the soapbars in there instead ot the Js?

  15. That is a Warwick Thumb 5 neck-through played by my hero, Traa Daniels. i think that he uses EMG pickups and electronics instead of the MECs on standard Warwicks.

  16. I'm pretty sure you are right. I know his dolphin has EMGs and i assume the same of the other Warwicks he's got.

They look like EMGs to me, although the logo is too small to tell for sure.

Every time my wife sees me demo'ing a thumb in the boom room at the local GC, she admits a strange attraction to the thing. I wonder why? ;) :D
