I am considering buying a used high end bass with wear on the finish around the pickups. The scuffs are clearly from a player's fingernails. Although, it appears to be only suface wear with no gashes in the wood top. Question is... can this finish be corrected? FWIW, the top is maple burl.

    Thanks

  2. What kind of finish is it?

  4. I wish I could help but im not familiar with the application of catalyzed acrylic, it shouldnt be more than a simple sanding with 600 grit till the scratches are gone, then use Micromesh in sequential order to sand till you get a matching lustre. That is an educated guess, so I would wait until you get some more info from some of the other guys here.
