Can I add a 15 inch cab to an Ampeg BA300 210?!

  1. Hey guys, I'm very interested in getting the BA300 210 from Ampeg. I'm wanting to know if I can attach a 15 inch speaker to it.

    http://www.ampeg.com/products/bassamp/ba300/210.html

There is the the line out part of the amp - but is this only for a line out to a PA? Or also ment for another cab?

Also will I loose half my power output? I'm new to the big amp thing - what rating does it have to be at to keep the full 300 watts.

    Cheers guys.

This combo does not have any extension speaker jacks. So you cant simply plug an aditional speaker cab in.

This amps "Line out" jack sends a preamp level signal. (this is a much-much weaker electrical signal, more similar in strength to what would power head phones, not speakers)

Most any amps "line out" (or effects send) jack could be connected to drive an external power amp, (or an aditional amp head) that could then be used to power an aditional speaker cab.

Here's a link to the manual for this model: http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/BA300.pdf
