Can somebody recommend me, say maybe three or four cross-string exercises? My speed jumping strings is lagging. Please don't recommend a book (unless it's a really really good one and you can't keep yourself from doing so)... I'm flat broke. I mean flat. Ugh college... :p

The best thing anybody ever showed me was to play the 1 with my middle finger. That way (if you're playing steady 1/4 or 1/8 notes) your last note is played with your shorter first finger, making it easier for your longer middle finger to jump to the next string.

    Good luck!

Do interval scales. Do I-IV, I-V, and I-VI intervals up the neck.

    etc

  5. Harmonise a major scale in 7ths and play as arpeggios. Jaco did something similar on his instructional video. Has string crossing and position shifts.

1st chord start on the root and ascend.

2nd chord start on the 7th and descend.

3rd chord start on the root and ascend.

    etc.
