can u use a guitar amp for a basss guitar?

  2. I have played bass through some guitar combos and I will say, YES, you can. is the clean tone desirable? not very :scowl: . is the overdrive good? YES. if you want, go get yourself a guitar head, get a matching bass cab and hook them up. it will sound fine

    Heads typcially you can, always, it will just be lower powered is all. Now the speakers in guitar cabs are *not* meant to be driven by those low of notes, just like a bass cab is not meant to handle high notes of guitars. Playing bass in a guitar cab will damage the speaker. Guitar head into a bass cab I would think would work, but you'll have reduced volume.
