I played a Geddy Lee Jazz the other day. It felt great! Excellent neck...except it's maple, and on a black bass. I prefer rosewood fingerboards. And I like finishes that don't disappear on a dark stage, say amber quilted maple. So how would I go about getting a Jazz neck with a rosewood 'board shaped to the specs of the Geddy?
Michael Dolan makes 'em. I can't recall the right URL. A Warmoth neck can be crafted to the specs of a Geddy Lee Jazz by a good luthier as well. I can understand not wanting the alder neck they come with http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=109442
