Okay, I may be off base here, but this guy on ebay is selling what he calls a '70's era Jazz bass. Now, I'm no expert, but didn't the '70's Jazzes have block inlays on the board? Oh yeah, didn't they also have TWO p'ups?! Here's a pic of the body, maybe it's the real deal! Ya' gotta love that P bass bridge cover! :bag:

It looks,if you look closely, like it has a P pickup.
and though black was a common color for pickguards in the seventies, that one doesn't look right, should be black-white-black-white laminate.

Looks like an old Fender neck attached to some off brand body.

Didn't 70's Fenders have bigger headstocks with bigger writing on them?

  10. Shouldn't there be a space between "Jazz" and "Bass" on the headstock?

*doesn't know his way around older Fenders*

I took a look at my Dad's 70's Fenders. The logo kind of curves around that curve in the neck, and yes, there is a space.

If you take a look at the headstock pic, it looks like there's a crack at the first tuner.
