Can you copy a pickup?

    hi there,

    i was wondering whether it is possible to copy a pickup (p-bass) by identifying the way it is wired and then have it built to exactly these specifications by someone else?

    no not exactly

    you can get close if you know the tension it was wired at the amount of windings the kind of wire and the kind of magnets.

    but even with all that you wouldn't have an exact copy of the pickup.
