Just watched an interesting piece of film of the Rolling Stones (Early 60's, they played in what appeared to be a circus tent). Bill Wyman was playing an interesting looking bass - it looked a little bit like a large - or rather, "wide" - Hofner violin bass. Anyone know what it was? I wasn't the teardrop shaped guitar - and I don't think it was the Framus.
    Thanks.

That was the Stones film "Rock'n'Roll Circus" filmed in December 1968.

Wyman is playing a Vox Astro IV (V-273) "Violin Style" Bass. It's the only time that he played it in public.

Here's a pic from the film clearly showing Wyman with the Astro IV.
