*looks around to make sure his stingray isn't listening*

is it possible to repaint a bass? how much would that cost?

i'm growing tired of my black stingray. i love her and i would never sell her. i just think she needs a little makeover to keep the flame burning ya know.

  2. Of course you can paint on a bass.

I don't know how much it would be to have done professionally, but if you do it on your own, go wild.

Yeah...but you'll want to get rid of the existing finish. I once got a quote on refinishing an entire neck (fretboard and all)...it was about $170 or something CAD. I imagine a body would be about half again as much, maybe twice the cost. That includes getting rid of the original finish and then putting on a new high gloss one.

  5. i thought it said "can you point a bass" and i started thinking about 80s rock videos. thanks.

It's not cheap. For $250 you can get some sweet effects ;)

If you can strip it down and put it back together you can get a car body shop to spray and seal it.

    How? Masking tape and spraypaint?

Didn't Eddie Van Halen paint his guitar like that?

Yeh, it was gloss black, so i sanded it down a little, then just put matt black on all over, taped it up and painted the white on top, its not Pro quality, but then pros dont do that sorta stuff in their bedroom with £10 worth of car spray paint....

Did EVH do that? Ive never taken much notice in him/them.

I'm pretty sure EVH painted his guitar with spraypaint and tape. The applied the 5150 stickers behind the bridge.

Here's a little secret: Wilkins does Lakland's and Sadowsky's bodies. You ain't gonna find anybody any better.
