  1. Would this cause damage to your amp or speakers? I just ordered the Peavey Headliner 1000 head and I want to get the PVH 410 which says 1200w, whats the worst that can happen ?

Yes. You want the cab to be rated higher than the amp. Beyond that, it probably isn't putting 1000 watts into one cab. You should be more than fine.

It's an 8 ohm cab, so the head will output a maximum of about 700 watts, well below the cabinet's safe power handling. Peavey stuff is solidly built and reliable. I think that head and cabinet will be an excellent pairing. Good choice!

  4. Thank you both, I'm new to the gear stuff. My first cab and head obviously go together so I didn't think anything about the power or speaker size lol but my Kasino 2x12 is old and heavy and 1 speaker is blown so it's time for an upgrade and I'm gonna have to learn all this at some point lol. Thanks

  5. What would happen if I were to use my new 1000w amp on my old Kasino cab? Idk the wattage I'm gonna try to find out rn

Keep in mind though, that the cabinet only actually is rated at 600 watts in reality. 1200 watts is the 'program power' or 'made up' rating.

Just be very careful, as you could easily blow that cab.

Thank you for the correction, I didn't realize the actual rating was 600 watts! :)

This is why I have posted several times that it's important to understand the metrics/units used in the specifications of both the amp and the speakers.

  10. You mean the one with a blown speaker already ?

Good way to turn your cab into a doorstop.

I suggest posting on TB before you spend more than $50 on any bass/music related products.

  14. So what things should I avoid doing with this new amp? What kind of speakers are in compatible? Is that even a thing? Lol

Never use a < 4 Ohm cab (or any combination of 4 Ohm cabs).
2 8Ohm cabs will be fine.
Power ratings are an indicator, and as such you should always be careful, and be paying attention to any unusual noise coming from your cab. If it's "farting", it's too much power.
    Get a HPF.

That is obviously so you can spend way, WAY more on some kind of tone chasing nonsense like I absolutely really honestly did not do like 3 times last year.

Always remember that your amp has a volume knob, and that you should use it appropriately.
