Looks like a Yamaha BB5000

 

Yeah, Yammie BBsomething - headstock and pickup surrounds are the giveaways.

 

Yamaha BB5000. The passive one. (Active was 5000A). Had one like that in white/cream. Neckthrough.

 

Not quite. That's a much-later-generation BB425X. The BB5000 is an earlier Yamaha creation. Check out this recent thread for some additional insights.

 

The BB5000 was around from ~ 1987.

 

Yamaha BB of some sort. Nathan has been endorsed/endorses Yamaha since forever! Don't think I've ever seen him playing anything else.

 

Ya gotta start somewhere. (On tour with Barry White, circa 1971.) But yeah, he's been with Yamaha for all eternity.

Here's a four string Yamaha BB3000A (active, hence the "extra" knob) from the early 1980s I once owned.

 

A very young Nathan East cutting in a studio with a first-gen Yamaha BB5000, which he put on the map.

 

Mine is black just like the pic in previous post and is 1985

 

....and they sound great! Although, if given a choice, I'd want an early 80s BB2000 with the J-blade and Reverse P.......

 

Had the same. 1985..Mine toured hard and the body got cracked after the PA shifted in the 90's while we were travelling on tour.. Mounted to my workshop ceiling now..
